i missed out this entry!!! how could i!

yes, i met val for dinner at five and dime! =) i went for my spa at hotel royal prior to dinner, and my spa was paid for by val as a birthday gift! =D how awesome a gift! the masseur was damn nice and we basically just talked while she massaged me, and the bed came with heater which felt really goood. warm my tummy =) geez. the only bad thing about aroma spa was that i came out glowing with oil  =x hahah! but that was fine, except that i felt abit sticky and oily.

i just love little cafes. and val! u are like my only friend that will scout for new places to go each time we meet =) thumbs up!

and yes, both of us came in black dresses and matching shoes! =) heh! dinner was awesome and earl grey tea was goooood! we sat down and talked alot as usual. its like we nva run out of topics =) and yes val, u are also my surviving bestie from secondary school and someone who has seen me grow all these while! =) u basically just witnessed all my ups and downs in life, and stood by me all these while! =D *HUGS

its bangkok day 1! =DD

took a cab down to our hotel, checked in and headed to platinum shopping mall! =D and there, we started our shopping spree!!!

while we were shopping at platinum, elizabeth actually bumped into her friends!! THE WORLD IS SERIOUSLY SMALLLL!!! what are the chances of bumping into your friends in a foreign country, to be at the same mall at the same time at the same level at the same shop?!?!?! so we arranged to meet for dinner! =)

group shot! =) liz's friends brought us to eat at this street hawker that sells local thai food. so we had tom yum soup (omg. favourite!), grilled fish, omelette, some weird tasting veggies, chicken and fried rice!

the guys went back to their hotel while we continued to walk down the street. shopped a little more before navigating our way back to the BTS to take the train. its amazing how every time when we travel, we don't really know how to get to the destination, but somehow or rather, we will just find the place. so basically the 3 of us were just roaming around the street, exploring the places and TADAH, we will land up at the correct place =)

anw, our hotel was realllly pretttty and big! upload the photos when i get them! =)

met up with psychology clique last weeeek! a long overdue post

we had our dinner at this korean place at raffles city. omg, eating korean food makes me think about seoul!!! i ate up all the kimchi on my plate as evidence of proof that i miss seoul! and i had this spicy tofu stew with rice. korean food in singapore is definitely less spicier than it was in korea. good for someone like me who doesnt really take too spicy stuff though.

anyway, we settled down at macs after dinner because it seemed to be the only option that could accomodate all of us. and we started camwhoring like nuts for what seemed like an hr or so. the macs manager even offered to help us take photos. haahhaha! and there was this uncle who was trying to read his articles beside us. i bet he must be swearing and cursing inside because the bunch of us were so damn noisy. oops. bad timing to sit there uncle!

my favourite cheap and good ice cream cone =D
it reads 'nus (with many hearts)'.

our many polaroid shots!

we talked for really longggggg. good to hear that everyone of us had found a job and we are all embarking or has embarked on our new journey in this working society! =)

ok apparently im in a rush to go out now! so gonna stop here!

im so excited about my bangkok trip =) this must have been the most impromptu trip ever!!! i was sharing with ryl over whatsapp about this cheap groupon deal to bangkok, completely ignoring the fact that she has been telling me how bangkok is unsafe and yadah yadah. yeah, testing water. half hoping she will think otherwise. and my testing of water has proven to be a success. she really surprises me when she told me she was keen about it!!! omg. and apparently another of my jc friend was keen too! so we hurriedly flipped through our calendar and tried to find dates that matched our schedules. ryl and beth had to apply for leaves, which got approved almost instantly. and so, WE BOOKED THE TICKETS TO BANGKOK within a few days =) how amazing is that! =) yeah, i actually booked the tickets before i told my dad im flying in a few days time. haha!

so for now, accomodation is settled and we are just left with the itinerary =)  2 more days and ill be sitting on a plane =) woots!

@ryl - bet u forgot about my blog website! but stilll! i want to say we have conquered hongkong, seoul, shanghai and now bangkok! we can make a scrapbook out of it already! =)))

anyway, thanks to all those who have wished me 'happy birthday', friends who treated me for dinner, for lunch, who made a cheesecake for me, and sponsored for my spa =DD BIG BIG THANK YOU! =)

AND I DID A SILLY THING TODAY =X g2000 was having sales so i decided to drop by to take a look. and because im short, the length of the 3/4 pants seemed to fit just nicely on me. but the point was, when i bought it, i didnt even realised its 3/4 =x as the items were on sales, they didnt allow us to try. so i simply took the presumably 3/4 pants and put it on me, looked at myself in the mirror and it seemed just like a full length pants, and i thought to myself 'hey, for once i don't need to alter my pants!!!'. feeling satisfied, i paid and left the shop. HAHA! oh man. why am i so silly. but anyway, the length of the pants is really fine but my mum offered to lengthen my pants so that when i wear heels it will look just fine. and my mum laughed at me and said '你的裤子第一次要改长!' =/

boarded the ferry for bintan in the morning =D

nice place to spend for a weekend =) this is the view from our room.

spotted this iguana (i think it is an iguana) right outside our room.

sisters! =D

and now its 3 + 1! =) anyway, we were given some welcome drink by the resort. some lemongrass drink, which further affirmed my dislike for lemongrass. yucks. smells weird, and taste even weirder.
started to camwhore in the room. hahah =)
my dajie didnt know how to react to my hug! HAHAHA! she's like petrified, not used to affection.

checked out the recreation lounge and we chanced upon this, so we decided to have a friendly match. it was damn hilarious playing with my parents. my dajie was laughing like nuts in this photo. heh. family bonding time   =)

ahhhh! prettttty beach =))))

love the sun, the sea, the sand, the trees =) attempt to get myself darker failed apparently because it started to rain not long later.

anyway, we had made a reservation in the afternoon for a steamboat dinner at this particular place. the driver was supposed to come and pick us up at the lobby at a specified timing. BUT, we waited for quite some time and the driver did not appear. and so, the hotel staff offered to help us make a call to that place. and the most ridiculous thing was, the steamboat place told the hotel staff over the phone that they had ran out of food (seriously, ran out of fooood?!?!), so they cant pick us up at the lobby. *faints. in the end, we settled for seafood dinner at a kelong. it was 9pm by then and we were all famished. the night was really pretttttty because it was super dark at the kelong and when we looked up, the sky was fillled with many many many many stars! =DDDD i stared at the sky for reallllly long until my neck started to ache.

went back to our resort and we ended the day by finishing two bottles of moscato =) *gulped

headed to their teeny weeny town the next day for lunch, and it started pouring!

nothing to do while waiting for the food to arrive.......hahaha!

bought some chips at the teeny weeny town, and this nice hotel staff offered to help us take a family shot.

and that sums up our awesome weekend =)

and now im looking forward to my bangkok trip with ryl and beth! =))))

because i had a dental appt at paragon, and because i didnt want to travel all the way to town just for that dental appt, I DATED CHERYL CHUA FOR TEA. hahahaha! peng you dou shi hu xiang li yong de =p

as usual, ryl was late for like near an hr and so i did my own shopping around somerset. h&m was on sales and the queue for payment was ridiculously longgggggg. so i gave up and left empty-handed. boo. =(

continued shopping when ryl came and we went for tea at arteastiq. my second visit to the place after val brought me there for the first time. heh =)

yuzu ice cream with chocolate green tea molten cake. YUMS! but this was little overpriced.
so we shared the cake, and sipped our coffee as we talked. updates on family to school to work to life goals to almost everything. AND SHE LEFT ME ALONE TO STONE BECAUSE SHE WAS BUSY PLAYING SCRAMBLE ON HER PHONE, AND WATCHING SUPER JUNIOR VIDEO ON YOUTUBE. roars. its ok, take it positively, this is what u get when we are just comfortable with each other.
my teeny weeny eyes.
we camwhored even on mrt =)

our tea lasted for 4hrs, till the sky turned dark. and we continued to shop around thereafter. went zara and decided to pick random clothes to try. yeah, things that we do when we realised we cant afford to buy a pants worth $129, or a top that cost $89.

haha! headed home for dinner! and my dinner was expired soba =x yeah, my immune system has been trained since young =) apparently the packet of soba expired yesterday. and my mum didnt want to waste it, so she decided to cook for the family. no worries, i didnt get any tummy ache after that!

family outing to the flyer, and dinner treat by mr and mrs tan! =)

my er jie managed to buy tickets for the flyer at $10 each,  and since my parents and da jie haven gone on the flyer before, we decided to make it a family outing =) and yes, USS will be our next family outing (because my er jie again, managed to buy tickets for USS at a cheaper price).

nothing much has changed since the last time i went flyer except that they constructed this gallery now (i supposed after collecting $29.50 over the years, they have budget to construct new gallery), and there's a nicer view now compared to the previous time i went when gardens by the bay was still under construction.

with erjie and mummy in the flyer =)

family shot!

view from the flyer

photo spot!

went seafood paradise for dinner, and took a stroll around the flyer before we ended the day =D

the news of my sister's godmother passing on sets me thinking a little.

i don't exactly believe that in burning paper money, houses, and clothes etc will mean the deceased will so called 'lead a better life in another world'. to some extent, people are doing all these just so they will feel better that they have at least done their part for the deceased. its like 'the last thing' they can do, and to resolve/lessen any possible guilt for not doing certain things when the person was still alive. but what happens when family members of the deceased did nothing. and i mean really nothing. not even a photo of the deceased, not even a proper coffin, not even a proper wake. what does that reflect? they have all done their part, so they could well do without a proper funeral? financial constrain? they simply cant be bothered to do anything more? i would think that a proper burial should be done at the very least as a basic form of respect for the deceased.

im not exactly close to my sis's godmother because we probably only see her once a year during chinese new year. despite that, the news of her passing on still saddens me. for someone so distant like me, i felt the loss. and im really puzzled, how can her immediate family not feel a single thing? it makes me wonder.
