OUTING WITH BOYFRIEND <3>

dear nicholas ang says that we have to learn more about the arts and culture so as to expand our horizon. so instead of walking aimlessly in town, we headed to SCIENCE CENTRE to see the da vinci exhibition!

our tickets!

this is a portable piano. cool eh. only one photo taken because photography isnt allowed =/ hee.

anyway, after an hr of walking through the exhibition, im proud to say i KNOW MORE ABOUT MONA LISA! hee. i didnt even noe the painting of her has got no eyebrow and eyelashes although they explained it could have faded or smth. the painting of her fingers werent really completed. mountains were painted blue and not green. the painting of mona lisa was damaged by a man who threw a stone at it, so they had to touch up and on and on.

'The Last Supper' was the last meal Jesus shared with his Twelve Apostles and disciples before his death and Jesus announced that one of the apostle would betray him. this painting by da vinci is one of his famous piece and because we are not allowed to take any photos in the exhibition, i 'kope' this from the web. hee.

not very clear i know. but apparently Jesus was drawn slightly bigger than the rest to place more emphasis on him. a window was drawn behind him which symbolises light shining on him or some sort.

'Vitruvian Man' is another famous piece of work by da vinci in expressing his interest in proportion and his words were all in mirror writing.

this was actually what was mentioned in a small video clip in the exhibition.

the ideal proportion of human
a palm is the width of four fingers
a foot is the width of four palms (i.e., 12 inches)
a cubit is the width of six palms
a pace is four cubits
a man's height is four cubits (and thus 24 palms)
the length of a man's outspread arms is equal to his height
the distance from the hairline to the bottom of the chin is one-tenth of a man's height
the distance from the top of the head to the bottom of the chin is one-eighth of a man's height
the distance from the bottom of the neck to the hairline is one-sixth of a man's height
the maximum width of the shoulders is a quarter of a man's height
the distance from the middle of the chest to the top of the head is a quarter of a man's height
the distance from the elbow to the tip of the hand is a quarter of a man's height
the distance from the elbow to the armpit is one-eighth of a man's height
the length of the hand is one-tenth of a man's height
the distance from the bottom of the chin to the nose is one-third of the length of the head
the distance from the hairline to the eyebrows is one-third of the length of the face
the length of the ear is one-third of the length of the face
the length of a man's foot is one-sixth of his height

of course, i didnt memorise them! hahaha! got it from the web.

da vinci also came up with many many great inventions from weapons to gliders to physics stuff. and you wonder, without these people in the past, what would our world be like now. hmm.

sat down for a drink after we were done walking through the enhibition.

boyfriend busy msging some girls. caught in action!

went on to walk around science centre. and u see things that reminded you of physics, chemistry and maths u studied in jc/sec sch. what alternating current, direct current, wave, electrons, neutrons. and seeing these familiar things make u feel smart! hah! cause you seem to know everything.

'HELLO?'

"yes?'
haha. u can see that the glass is quite dirty. blurr blurr one.

oh! there's suppose to be some shrimps swimming inside. hah! but doubt anyone can spot them. its soo tiny.

a photo we randomly took before we left science centre. hee!

went to joel's house after that which means we trained from jurong east all the way to tanah merah. actually we trained from boon lay because there werent any seats if we had boarded the train at jurong east. so it was a super longgggggg journey. so we just slept on the train. dinnered and watched tv. and i just sat on the sofa from 8 to 11 plus pm. haha! boyfriend's dad said 'you seem to have not moved since u sat down' HAHA! which is true. i guess the safest way is to just sit there and watch tv rather than walk around the house and not knowing what to do with all the relatives around.

finally home at 12!
