ryl's birthday celebration (round 2) with fairies! =)) it has beeen a long while since the five of us met. its a warm feeling to meet up with them because we just have so much to share, and we are so comfortable with one another theres nth called 'unglam'. and its good to know that none of us has changed. we are still as crazy as ever, doing the stupidest thing and not being afraid that we will be judged by others. yes, as evident below.

this is what happened when i whatsapped ryl to get her to send me one more photo of us so that i can complete my collage. look at the nonsense they did when they were on the train. i almost laughed out loud literally when i saw the whatsapp images. haha! seriously. i bet they gotten many stares from the uncles and aunties on board the train. they actually spammed the grp chat with all of their individual shots and i decided to piece them up into a collage. heh.

brunch at prive

HAPPPPY BIRTHDAY CHERYL CHUA! =DDD IT HAS BEEN AWESOME KNOWING YOU FOR THE PAST SEVEN DONKEY YEARS. in fact your birthday celebration started yesterday when we drank one bottle of moscato together. hahaha! yeah, speaking about that, its actually quite fun to run and swim and drink at the end of everything =)

anw, so ya, we went to prive at keppel bay for brunch! THANK GOODNESS WE GOT THE INDOOR SEATS IF NOT IM SO GONNA MELT UNDER THE SCORCHING HOT SUN. its a nice place to sit and chill except that the people sitting beside us talked as if they were in a market *roll eyes. totally spoil the ambience there.

and yes, walked around keppel bay and camwhored. hahaha! cant believe we actually stood under the sun for 45mins or even longer, just to take photos. but it was fun! =)) pretty sure we were judged by this group of people who sat at the pavilion =/ anw, so we strolled back to vivo and shopped around before i flew down to pasir ris for therapy session.

patisserie g

charlene and i both had interviews in the afternooon, so that means we can knock off earlier than usual which then gave us reasons to hang out after work! =)) settled our dinner at 'namnam' with our yummy chicken/beef pho, shopped around and headed to 'patisserie g' at millenia walk for our desserts. yeah, in fact going to 'patisserie g' was the highlight of our day =) been hearing good comments from charis and charlene had also been there once and thought it was good. so now its my turn to try it out!

'patisserie g' is a nice little cafe on its own. a place i probably wouldnt notice if not for my friends. the desserts were pretty decent but in terms of their coffee, i still prefer the one at chock full of beans! anyway, we sat and chilled and talked about 101 things. ultimate quality time spent before we find ourselves dragging our feets back home.

dinner date with cheryl at tcc (because we have 50% off the total bill) =DD we happily made our order, and lazed on the sofa seats hoping the next working day wouldnt come.

wednesday

a monkey decided to make its appearance outside our office. and it was damn funny because it attempted to eat the cactus =/ silly monkey. so now, i have seen snakes, monitor lizards, squirrels, and monkey all at my workplace.

sushi tei for dinner and churos thereafter! a damn sinful but awesome dessert =D

friday

YES WE ARE ALL ON LEAVE ON A FRIDAY! WOOHOO! felt damn goood. supposed to have make-up therapy session in the morning but poor kid was down with stomach flu. so that made my off day felt damn good instantly. headed to vivo first to meet joyce to settle our batam trip! yay im gonna go batam soon! =)) highlight of the month! =))) headed to lavender next to find charis n charlene at ccsh. chilled and cafe hopped to windowsill pie for tarts! yummmy yummy tarts but no pictures because they werent photogenic =/ went town to shop around and had dinner at ding tai feng =) a day full of eating =x

the next thing i did was to stand on the weighing scale at the end of the week. THANK GOODNESS i weigh the same still.

alright, so after having shot for only 4 rounds, i found myself waking up at freaking 6.15am on a fine saturday because we were told to reach SPEAR Base at 7.30am for the competition. this is worse than a normal working day =(

but anw, since we were there, we might as well just have fun =) we waited for an hr or so, just to enter the range to shoot 20 bullets. and waited another hr or so, just to shoot another 10 bullets. and tadah! we were all done!! obviously i didnt win. but HQ team 1 won champion for the team event!*claps

everything ended by noon, and i strolled to cheryl's house because we were meeting to go for lunch at coastal settlement! =) and because i forgot to bring slippers and i didnt want to wear shoes, i went up her house to get slippers and her mum GAVE ME ANG BAO! her mum so cute la. i was so paiseh because cny is way over and she insisted that i take the red packet. awwww. nice aunty. anywayyyy, we took a bus down to coastal settlement.

had so much to update each other having not seen for some time. and we were damn full from lunch we decided to stroll 1.5KM TO CHANGI VILLAGE. for a moment i felt as if we were on a holiday. because thats what we always do overseas, and that is to walk and talk and act retarded and laugh at each other.

made it to changi village, walked around and settled down at hawker centre for a cup of sugar cane juice and starfruit juice. so much for wanting to walk to digest. end up we bought drinks =/ and i thought i was too early for therapy session, so i gave my bus a miss when it came, and accompanied cheryl to wait for hers. after what seemed like 15mins or so, my bus finally came but this angmoh couple approached me for direction and i ended up missing my bus =/ oh well. so by the time the next bus came, i was just on time for therapy session. and momo was good for the day so we had lots of fun! =)

thursday was an enjoyable day because its the first time im shooting with a pistol! *gasp and the first time im doing yoga! *double gasp. its a bipolar day. pistol vs yoga.

alright, so morning started off with going SPEAR Base at prison for shooting. yes, SPEAR stands for Singapore Prison Emergency Action and Response, something that i just found out recently. so apparently they were organising a shooting competition for prison staff. so they are finding people to represent their individual division. and since a few of us have never gone for shooting before, we decided to just go and try! it was more of a fun shoot for us, but it turned out otherwise. shall explain later.

anyway, thank goodness shehnas was there with me. we are the two newbies from HQ. and true enough, i got a shock when the pistol recoiled. crap. for that moment i wished i was back at office. first round of shooting was hilarious, i shot 20 bullets and 9 went missing =x not even on target. hahahahhaa. omg. but i improved on my second and third and fourth round! at least i shot 20 bullets and 1 went missing only. heh. but even then, the SPEAR ppl walked past me and looked at my target and said 'this is what we call twinkle twinkle little stars (cause my shots were scattered)'. tsk. 

so thats me, shehnas, and charis! the officers were like staring at us for being such a bimbo =/ hahhaaha! still posing for the camera with our targets.

this is like the best that i can get. and you know what! such lousy shoot and they asked me to go compete with the rest on saturday. OMG. seriously, i think i was there to make up the number. i probably need to shoot 5 more bullseye to catch up with the rest of the people *roll eyes. and i figured guns are not meant for me.

ANYWAY. charis and i went for yoga after work! ok, i was so much more excited to go for yoga than shooting. we went for hot yoga and i swear we perspired as if we had a shower head above us. felt sooo gooood to sweat em all out. cant wait for more yoga sessions! =))) we had jelly legs after the session, and our muscles started to ache when we reached home. haha! good workout =)

hotpot!

hotpot after work with charis, charlene, georgina and corn! =)) hotpot was like the highlight of my day, my motivation to look forward to the end of work! and yes, good thing george drove, so we all had a lift to hotpot culture at marina square. good thing about this place was that we each had an individual pot, so we wouldnt overeat. at least thats what i think. so we happily had our dinner and chatted for hours before we all dread for work the next day.

no more monday blues

monday has never felt so good before ever since i started work =))it was one random chat over the officer communicator that both charlene and i decided to clear leave and just spend a day out in town =)



 

so we met for brunch at taka, and what really attracted me was the donkersarus below!  



so cute right???!!! its chicken, mushroom and shrimp inside =) filled our tummies and after many many many cups of pu-er tea,  we went to shop around. managed to buy everything that i needed and soon we found ourselves settling down at arteastiq =)

earl grey lavender tea for me, and lychee tea for charlene. i bet i drank two litres of tea in a day. continued sipping more cups of tea and talked about life. girls can really talkkk 24/7.

carried on shopping again, had our dinner and headed home! =D what a perfect monday! =)

found myself waking up at freaking 7am to go work ON A SATURDAY. roars. but oh well, we are compensated for with an off in lieu. BUT STILL! i had to drag myself to work.

3hrs of interview in the morning and another 1.5hours of interview in the afternoon, I FINALLY ENDED WORK. interviewed an interesting inmate. he appeared friendly and chatty and i could laugh and joke with him as we conversed. but he just had to stun me after i heard how he used his barang to slash someone across his face (!!!!!) and multiple parts of his body (!!!!!). and how he attacked another guy and caused him to have 36 stitches. mmmmm. but yes, we shouldnt judge. i believe he has changed for the better. or at least, thats what i concluded after i interviewed him.

anw, because its saturday and we were damn sian going to work, charlene and i decided to reward ourselves by going to a nice cafe =) thats like our motivation to go work and to pull through 3 interviews.

finally met up with xinyi after we postponed our meet up for what seemed like a month. we had so much to share with each other and im so happy to hear her plans in the next few year. all well drafted out =) she might just be my first closer friend to get married. yay! =D

 

we had our dinner and went to shop for awhile before we headed home. cant wait to go 'carpenter and cook' next! =DD

HAPPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLENE CHIA! =D celebrated charlene's birthday during lunch hour in office and the burger cake was simply awesome! thanks to charis who bought it =D the cake was so pretty we had to take more photos before anyone could cut it, and it actually taste much better than what i expected =)

didnt manage to stay through lunch because i had to rush to msf. and the taxi driver just didnt want to believe me when i told him to turn left. *roll eyes. end up we had to make a uturn. booo.

happppy chinese new year! this year, it felt so different...like its just a normal day to me....i cant be bothered to paint my nails or wear contact lens because its just another day =/ it doesnt feel special anymoreeeeeee. maybe as we grow older, we have much less places to visit, so there isnt much anticipation? or maybe the sweets and pineapple tarts doesnt appeal to me anymore? oh well.

and our yearly tradition to go mac for ice cream after dinner =D and my cousin was sharing her story about her SIA interview. it was damn funny. to think she could just lie her way through to round 3 of the interview, and failed because her teeth arent straight =/ wasted.

its a boring thursday but many little things just made my day! =)

done with our morning interviews at prison, so charlene n i headed to changi village for lunch. settled down at chock full of beans, and look at my cup of coffee! =) the chinese new year spirit is the air ~ and the funniest part was the barista drew a snake on charlene's cup of coffee, and she freaked out and stirred the coffee immediately. snakephobia.  =//

dragged ourselves back prison for interview and it didnt help when my abdomen was hurting like nuts =s

quiet time

office was exceptionally quiet today. i was busy doing some work, and it became so routine and mundane that i realised my hands were merely typing away but my mind was already thinking about something else. yeah i was thinking what exactly do i want in my life. big question ok! so i started using office communicator to talk to shehnas. i guess the final conclusion that i arrived is to choose the right career path and progress from there, than to just land myself in another job that 'i don't mind doing'. mmmm. pay vs passion.

i had so much in mind i wanted to blog during work today but horrible prison gave no access to blogger.com =/ so what i had left in mind was just the final conclusion. zzzz.

anw! i cant believe im gonna go for yoga classes. i think my bones will break =x

impromptu dinner with charlene after work on friday =) we were supposed to get melissa's farewell gift but we ended up at "fabulous baker boy". heh. anw, melissa was really sweet to get me a little pink backpack =)) it was her gift for me before she leave prison HQ. realllly appreciated her effort =)) 

and yes, so we found ourselves comfortable at "fat boy". ordered our food and talked like non-stop. 'quality time' =D

our prawn 'mee-pok'. not too bad except that it was teeny bit dry.

apparently fabulous baker boy is famous for their cakes. mmmm. but i thought my matcha cake tasted like huat kueh =/ ok thats subjective la ah. 

poor blog has gone untouched for a month =/ much had happened but i was just too lazy to update. heh.

jasmin finally spoke to us individually about the work contract. nervous die. because i still cant decide to stay on or move on. but at the very least, ill probably work till may when the contract ends...and then, i'll decide where to next...pretty much like the place im working at now except that i don't see any career progression =/ so in the long run, no point la ah...maybe i shld just be abit more determined and pursue what i wanted initially.

family trip to bali! =D

 



my first stay in a pool villla! *thumbs up. felt like a princess for 4 days =)) its so awesome when you have a private pool, and the staff would served breakfast right up to your villa and even set up the table for you. mega nice! =D

day 1
nth much for day 1 given that we reached bali only in the late afternoon. so it was more of exploring around the area that we stayed. but it was damn cool at night because they have street lamp but somehow or rather, they just don't function. SOOO.....it felt like an adventure to me as we figured our way out in the darkness. my dad was like 'wah, jungle training'. =) thank goodness we did manage to find our way back in the end =) because its like we were walking along the road in darkness and not knowing whether we were in the right direction.

day 2
parents went for spa while sis and i spent the whole morning swimming and sun tanning. my deliberate attempt to sun tan didnt go really well. i only got teeny weeny bit darker =x anyway, went to uluwatu in the late afternoon, and it took us freaking 1.5 hrs just to get there via car! oh my. but the place was realllllly prettty except for the scary monkey that attacked ppl!

we watched kecak and fire dance at uluwatu as well. quite interesting actually. instead of using musical instruments like most dance would, these guys used their voices to create music and to tell a story.

day 3
spent the entire day out! went to many many places =)) coffee plantation, rice terraces, had drinks at this restaurant that overlooked a volcano, visited traditional balinese house, tanah lot, tried local food as welll. thumbs up!

this is tanah lot. apparently when its low tide, we can actually walk to the temple. but it was high tide when we went. so didnt have the chance to walk there.boooo. but it was reallly prettty there!

 

day 4

our turn to go spa while my parents spent the morning swimming. haha! awesome spa oh my! full body massage, full body scrub and then soaking ourselves in flower tub =DD perfect way to end the trip!
