hairpy birthday!

HAPPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLENE CHIA! =D celebrated charlene's birthday during lunch hour in office and the burger cake was simply awesome! thanks to charis who bought it =D the cake was so pretty we had to take more photos before anyone could cut it, and it actually taste much better than what i expected =)

didnt manage to stay through lunch because i had to rush to msf. and the taxi driver just didnt want to believe me when i told him to turn left. *roll eyes. end up we had to make a uturn. booo.

happppy chinese new year! this year, it felt so different...like its just a normal day to me....i cant be bothered to paint my nails or wear contact lens because its just another day =/ it doesnt feel special anymoreeeeeee. maybe as we grow older, we have much less places to visit, so there isnt much anticipation? or maybe the sweets and pineapple tarts doesnt appeal to me anymore? oh well.

reunion dinnnner

reunion dinnnner at ah ma's house! this year is a little bit different without my er jie and one of my cousin who is overseas now...

too big a family....so the cousins have a table of our own

and our yearly tradition to go mac for ice cream after dinner =D and my cousin was sharing her story about her SIA interview. it was damn funny. to think she could just lie her way through to round 3 of the interview, and failed because her teeth arent straight =/ wasted.

its a boring thursday but many little things just made my day! =)

peanut buttter and jelly cupcake from charlene! =D she actually bought 3 for me but she ended up stealing one at home. heh!! but still!! THANK YOU SALENE CHIA! =D hee! that was so sweet =)

done with our morning interviews at prison, so charlene n i headed to changi village for lunch. settled down at chock full of beans, and look at my cup of coffee! =) the chinese new year spirit is the air ~ and the funniest part was the barista drew a snake on charlene's cup of coffee, and she freaked out and stirred the coffee immediately. snakephobia.  =//

dragged ourselves back prison for interview and it didnt help when my abdomen was hurting like nuts =s

quiet time

office was exceptionally quiet today. i was busy doing some work, and it became so routine and mundane that i realised my hands were merely typing away but my mind was already thinking about something else. yeah i was thinking what exactly do i want in my life. big question ok! so i started using office communicator to talk to shehnas. i guess the final conclusion that i arrived is to choose the right career path and progress from there, than to just land myself in another job that 'i don't mind doing'. mmmm. pay vs passion.

i had so much in mind i wanted to blog during work today but horrible prison gave no access to blogger.com =/ so what i had left in mind was just the final conclusion. zzzz.

anw! i cant believe im gonna go for yoga classes. i think my bones will break =x

fat boy!

lets do my blog some justice by having some photos! 

impromptu dinner with charlene after work on friday =) we were supposed to get melissa's farewell gift but we ended up at "fabulous baker boy". heh. anw, melissa was really sweet to get me a little pink backpack =)) it was her gift for me before she leave prison HQ. realllly appreciated her effort =)) 

and yes, so we found ourselves comfortable at "fat boy". ordered our food and talked like non-stop. 'quality time' =D

our prawn 'mee-pok'. not too bad except that it was teeny bit dry.

apparently fabulous baker boy is famous for their cakes. mmmm. but i thought my matcha cake tasted like huat kueh =/ ok thats subjective la ah. 

poor blog has gone untouched for a month =/ much had happened but i was just too lazy to update. heh.

jasmin finally spoke to us individually about the work contract. nervous die. because i still cant decide to stay on or move on. but at the very least, ill probably work till may when the contract ends...and then, i'll decide where to next...pretty much like the place im working at now except that i don't see any career progression =/ so in the long run, no point la ah...maybe i shld just be abit more determined and pursue what i wanted initially.

family trip to bali! =D

 



my first stay in a pool villla! *thumbs up. felt like a princess for 4 days =)) its so awesome when you have a private pool, and the staff would served breakfast right up to your villa and even set up the table for you. mega nice! =D

day 1
nth much for day 1 given that we reached bali only in the late afternoon. so it was more of exploring around the area that we stayed. but it was damn cool at night because they have street lamp but somehow or rather, they just don't function. SOOO.....it felt like an adventure to me as we figured our way out in the darkness. my dad was like 'wah, jungle training'. =) thank goodness we did manage to find our way back in the end =) because its like we were walking along the road in darkness and not knowing whether we were in the right direction.

day 2
parents went for spa while sis and i spent the whole morning swimming and sun tanning. my deliberate attempt to sun tan didnt go really well. i only got teeny weeny bit darker =x anyway, went to uluwatu in the late afternoon, and it took us freaking 1.5 hrs just to get there via car! oh my. but the place was realllllly prettty except for the scary monkey that attacked ppl!

we watched kecak and fire dance at uluwatu as well. quite interesting actually. instead of using musical instruments like most dance would, these guys used their voices to create music and to tell a story.

day 3
spent the entire day out! went to many many places =)) coffee plantation, rice terraces, had drinks at this restaurant that overlooked a volcano, visited traditional balinese house, tanah lot, tried local food as welll. thumbs up!

this is tanah lot. apparently when its low tide, we can actually walk to the temple. but it was high tide when we went. so didnt have the chance to walk there.boooo. but it was reallly prettty there!

 

day 4

our turn to go spa while my parents spent the morning swimming. haha! awesome spa oh my! full body massage, full body scrub and then soaking ourselves in flower tub =DD perfect way to end the trip!



teambuilding day!

department's teambuilding day! (still cant believe 2hrs of dodgeball cost $800 -_-'', but yeah, if we do not spend it, the govt gonna take em back....so might as well...)

so friday was declared 'teambuilding day' as everyone headed down to marina country club early in the morning. thumbs up to that because i stay near to it! =DD despite stayin so near, i never knew there's a company there that organises dodgeball. anw! dodgeball wasnt too bad. kind of makes me wan to play netball again! =D

the 28 of us headed down to jalan kayu for lunch after dodgeball, and then to boss's house to play boardgames. stayed till evening before we all call it a day! =))

i don't know how and where to start updating my blog because i have not been doing so lately. mmmm. and yes, my laptop died on me months ago, and my erjie's old laptop also died on me days ago.....all my electronics are dying on me, possibly reflecting the power of my sweaty palms =/  hai.  and i cant sign into my friend's nus account to access the database for journal articles, which explained why i am here blogging...

is a lazy sunday afternoon and im home alone trying to edit my paper but ya, no access to journal articles. roars. and the mtv channel is not playing any nice music, not really helping much.

as far as i can rmb....this is what all that had happened.....

met up with jaclyn, allena and yifang and collected the cd and photos from the photoshoot + birthday surprise for allena and yifang! =)

half the strength here! its friday and everyone wasnt in the mood to do work, and a few of them were too excited for their kpop concert. as u can see, some of them have changed to their t-shirt for the concert.

then it was legoland with ryl! =DD legoland was seriously crowded and we queued an hr for each ride. kill me man.

rock climbing/bouldering ydae with colleagues! oh man, im aching all over now seriously. but it was fun! =D

and i did my very first presentation at work few days back! woohoo! =D and one more presentation to do next weeek! i cant wait for data collection for the study to begin.

public holiday (deepavali) was well spent with jaclyn, allena and yifang! =) yifang managed to get her friend to help us take photos (with a price of course), and so we met early in the morning for our graduation shoooot! yes, graduation shooot again! but with different clique this time around =) 

we decided to have part of our graduation shoot in school because during commencement, we didnt get to take a photo with 'i was here'!!, and anyway, it was way too crowded to even take a proper photo even if we had the chance to.

we almost died of itch here! swear the mosquitos were horribly hungry.

and yes, we wanted to go back to our EA classroom to take photos but it was locked sadly. so we just snapped photos outside...

the photographer loves to take candid photos.....we were on our way to garden by the bay!

it was soooo much fun taking the photos! =DDD and most importantly, we had the most enthu  photographer with us. we were like damn tired towards the end, and the photographer was like hyped up still, and continued to snap more photos and kept asking us to try this and that. and every view he saw, he wanted us to stand in so he could take a photo of it. realllllllly enthu photographer and damn efficient too. hahha! *thumbs up

yes, more photos even during lunch. hahaha! our photographer is on-the-go 24/7.

i think we spent close to 5hrs taking photos! wooots. damn tired at the end of the day! smile until i didnt want to smile anymoreeee....hahaha!

coastal settlement for dinner! a preeeettty place thats quietly located somewhere in changi. it has a 'close to nature' theme, so theres lots of plants n trees and flowers which i like. heh! i wouldnt mind spending my afternoon there with a cup of coffee =)) and when the sky turned dark, the place was beautifully lit up =)  anw despite being a quietly located dining place, the seats were all nearly reserved when we entered! thats surprising. and so, we only had like 1.5hrs to eat because the table that we were seated at was reserved then.

good thing about this place is that it is near my workplace. GOOD! save time traveling. hahah! hate to go town after work because its so out of the way. 

our grad shots! =D now it seems as though i have graduated for yearssssss, when in fact its just 3mths agooo....

do i really miss school? hmmm. i probably only just miss spending time with my friends back in school. anyway my work now makes me feel as though im still schooling. so not gonna miss the part of reading articles and writing literature review for now. hah! but i guess i prefer working over schooling on the whole.

dinner date with colleagues!! i think its nice hanging out with colleagues after work because most of the time while we are at work, we seldom get to talk as much...ya, its not the case of 'its not as if we haven seen enough of each other at work' =pp

charis recommended new places for dinner so we decided to try out this place at siglap. seriously, siglap seems totally foreign to me. hahahha! i forgot whats the name of the place, but the portion of food was reallllly hugeeeeeee!

we headed for dessert at de la creme (i think its spelled this way) after dinner. took a lonnnnnnnggggggggg walk to the place and i didnt even realise we walked past this malay cemetry =x thank goodness charis n narin chose not to tell us. ahaha! if not ill freaked out.

dinner date with psychology friends at j8! we tried this place that aga recommended, and its not too bad! =)) and we started bitching about some people. hahhaha! better don't step on our toes if not you will find urself sneezing non-stop!! *glare

anw allena n i reached early so that we could pass the cake to the staff at the place we dined at. the staff was really nice and he knew we wanted it to be a surprise, so when we were all done with dinner, he was like gesturing to me from the back, asking who's the birthday girl so that he know who to give the cake to later. AND THEN...this manager came up to us and went 'hello, heres the bill. BTW, U HAVE A CAKE RIGHT?' tsk. i stared right at him and went 'hello, you just spoiled our surprise!' hahahaha! made him felt so paiseh =p oopsie!

work is draining my energy so much so that i don't want to go out on weekends because i wanna slp moreeee and have time for myself! and factor in some time going for therapy too...so im a lazy woman on weekends.

and working at the extreme end of singapore aint too good an idea because i would be too lazy to travel to town to meet friends for dinner. oh dear. look what work has done to me =(

anw, changi village for lunch with colleagues and we decided to pop by choc full of beans! actually this was taken some time back, just didnt have the time to update. apparently my colleagues all like to go pretty cafes to chill =))) so we had alot to share!
